Just what is winterization, anyway?
When the cold weather comes, boat folks must prepare. That is, we must get our boats set for safe storage in freezing temps. This means a lot of draining and sealing. If done improperly, you could face a big ol mess of burst pipes, busted tanks and bum engines come spring.
Why not leave the work and worry to us? Our skilled, seasoned technicians will make sure your boats all set for winter. Its a little investment that goes a long way.
Available Winterization Services
Heres the rough rundown of our winterization services:
Inboard/Outboard Service
During this service, we will:
Put fuel stabilizer in gas tank
Run engine and bring to operating temp
Change engine oil and filter (if requested)
Run engine, check oil level
Fog engine until it dies
Drain and refill gear lube
Lubricate all accessories and grease zerks
drain water
Probe all drain holes and remove any obstructions
Drop stern drive to full down position to drain
Raise stern drive and tip front of boat to drain
Reinstall all drain plugs
Tag boat with winterized tag
Outboard Service
During this service, we will:
Put fuel stabilizer in gas tank
Run engine and bring to operating temperature
Change engine oil and filter (four-stroke only)
Run engine, check oil level (four-stroke only)
Fog engine until it dies
Drain and refill gear lube
Put motor in full down position to drain
Tag boat with winterized tag
This is 1/2 of our huge service shop. With 9 techs and 20,000 square feet of shop, we do our best to service your boat or recreational toy. Each year, the parts and service staff go to factory training, to be updated on the latest improvements from Mercury,Yamaha and the various boats we represent.
